Ballston Quarter, the highly-anticipated overhaul of the Ballston Common mall in Arlington is scheduled to open later this year. Developer Forest City recently announced that it will allocate 40% of the 850,000-square-foot site to experiential destinations, as traditional brick-and-mortar establishments continue to stagnate. The new dining, living, recreation, and entertainment options include:

*A food hall featuring vendors such as Ice Cream Jubilee & Timber Pizza Co.
*A 406-unit apartment building, office space, and shopping
*Cookology – a cooking school with classes for adults and children
*Punch Bowl Social – a restaurant with bowling lanes, a bocce court, and karaoke rooms
*Nook – a modern, indoor play and education space for children
*5 Wits – a live-action challenge venue similar to escape rooms
