Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunter
DC nonprofit So Others Might Eat (SOME) sponsors this popular 5k run and family walk, benefitting programs for the homeless and the organization’s ability to serve over 800 meals to the hungry each year.

‘Season’s Greetings’ at the U.S. Botanic Garden
Visit the Botanic Garden, where model trains will chug along a track decorated with plant-based figurines of American roadside attractions. The Garden Court will also feature botanical versions of D.C. landmarks, including the newly debuted National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Thanksgiving Day Swing Dance at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage
Enjoy a free, 45-minute swing dance lesson for beginners, followed by two hours of hits by Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and other big bands. There will also be an appearance by Jean Veloz, star of “Swing Fever,” “Groove Movie,” and other 1940s films.

Turkey Chase Bethesda-Chevy Chase YMCA
For the 35th annual year, thousands of runners will gather in Bethesda for the Turkey Chase 10K and 2 mile Fun Run to support the YMCA’s Youth and Family Services, YMCA Bethesda-Chevy Chase, and the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rotary Club Foundation.
