*D.C. Restaurant Week
DC’s vibrant culinary scene is on display January 14-20 for Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week. Try 3 course lunches for $22, 3 course dinners for $35, and brunches for $22. With 250 participating restaurants spread out all over the DMV, you can treat yourself to a variety of DC’s dining options.

*Artechouse
Art and technology come together in the form of immersive, interactive displays at Artechouse, located a couple blocks from the National Mall. The gallery’s latest exhibit, Everything in Existence, comes from Italian studio fuse* and runs from January 17-March 10. Mattia Caretti, co-founder of fuse*, says, “Everything in Existence is meant to bring people together in a new place with a new perception of reality, a different point of view and the feeling of being all part of something bigger, being part of everything that exists.”

*National Museum of Women in the Arts
Don’t miss free admission weekend at the National Museum of the Arts, January 19-21, for the Women’s March. Take in a variety of outstanding pieces by great women artists, including a Rodarte exhibition, at this museum located a short distance from the White House.

*MLK Jr. Day Peace Walk & Parade
DC is host to a variety of events in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, including the annual peace walk and parade starting at 9 AM on January 21, which brings together members of the faith community and representatives of organizations who share the mission of uniting the DC community and encouraging peaceful resolutions to issues impacting local residents. The program begins with prayers led by interfaith leaders followed by a diverse group of peace advocates.

*Backcountry Film Festival
The Backcountry Film Festival, produced each year by Winter Wildlands Alliance “as a celebration of the human-powered experience and a gathering place for the backcountry sports community,” arrives at DC’s Penn Social on January 28. The award-winning film lineup features outdoor adventure, environmental themes, ski culture, and more. All proceeds benefit the nonprofit Winter Wildlands Alliance.
