A new analysis by local real estate website UrbanTurf pinpointed five neighborhoods in the district that crossed into seven-figure territory this year, with median home values above $1,000,000: Crestwood, Friendship Heights, American University Park, Chevy Chase, and Foxhall. Of these neighborhoods, Foxhall saw the biggest escalation in median home values, up 9.6% from 2017.

Million-dollar listings in the country have more than doubled since 2012, according to Trulia, accounting for 3.6% of active inventory. In DC, about 14% of neighborhoods have median home values above $1,000,000 and home prices are continuing to rise.

The table below shows DC’s three neighborhoods with the highest median home prices as well as the five areas that became million-dollar neighborhoods in 2018.
