Commercial real estate developer JBG Smith recently presented its vision for “National Landing,” the site of Amazon’s HQ2 in Virginia and a rebranding of portions of Crystal City, Pentagon City, and Potomac Yard. Here are the highlights from JBG’s strategic plan for the area:

Infrastructure Investments
• Construction of additional Metro entrances at Crystal City and Potomac Yard
• Improvements to Route 1
• Production of a pedestrian bridge from National Landing to Reagan National Airport

Retail & Commercial Development
• Central District Retail, the “retail heart of National Landing,” will become a 130,000-square-foot entertainment and shopping hub with a 49,000-square-foot Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, with restaurants, bars, and more.
• Amazon will lease roughly 500,000 square feet of existing office space in its buildings at 241 18th Street South, 1800 South Bell Street, and 1770 Crystal Drive.
• Amazon will purchase Pen Place, its future Pentagon City development.

Residential Construction
• Approximately 40,000 rental apartments, condos, townhouses and houses in National Landing are in the pipeline, adding to the nearly 400,000 units already there.
